Handling of site and app information

Privacy policy

This page applies to coa-research.com/orqnote/ and the Orqnote app. Apart from the overall site policy operated by WordPress, we will explain how information on this product page is handled.

1. Information obtained on this site

• Information entered in the inquiry form (type of inquiry, name, reply email address, body text)
• Email address registered for notification of sales start
• Email address, product name, amount, order/payment identification information at the time of purchase
• Information to prevent unauthorized transmission (information recorded on the server, such as IP address, transmission date and time, browser type, etc.)
• Session cookie to keep forms secure (CSRF countermeasures. Not used for advertising or tracking)

This site does not use external scripts for advertising or behavioral tracking purposes.

2. Purpose of use

• Responses to inquiries and requests for disclosure of seller information
• Information on the start of sales (only if you register for notifications)
• Providing information on the start of sales and responding to pre-purchase consultations.
• Provision of products, purchase emails, reacquisition, license registration/cancellation, refunds, and handling of unauthorized use.
• Providing update information and signed update files
• Prevention of unauthorized transmission/access, site maintenance

3. Information handled by the app

Orqnote is an app for voice input and text formatting on Mac. We do not perform app-specific access analysis.

• Failure log: Failed operations, code locations, fixed error codes, and available connection status, elapsed time and retry counts are saved on this Mac, for up to 7 days and 100 entries. You can review and clear them in the app. Audio, input, formatted text, conversation history, screenshots, URLs and keys are never recorded in this log. Dictation history has its own setting. Previous detailed logs are never sent.
• Bugs and feedback: Only when you choose Send in the app, your message and app version are emailed to the developer. No name or reply address is requested. Do not include personal information, API keys or licence keys. Audio, screenshots, history and dictionary entries are never attached. Failure logs are used to investigate the reported problem. A log is included only after you review it and select the consent checkbox. It contains the app version, macOS version, CPU architecture, and timestamps, operations, code locations, error codes, connection status, elapsed time and retry counts for the latest 20 entries. Session cookies and submission limits protect this feature. Feedback is kept only as needed for improvements and records.
• audio: Transcription is performed within the Mac, and the audio itself is not sent to an external AI.
• transcribed text: Not sent to external AI in on-device mode. In API mode, it is sent to the configured API.
• screen image: In on-device mode, processing is performed within the Mac. If "Formatting by looking at the screen" is turned on in API mode, the image of the front window will be sent to the setting destination. Password management apps are always excluded from acquisition.
• History/Dictionary/Memorized words: Save on Mac. Deletion can be done from the app menu.
• API key: Saved in the macOS Keychain, not saved in the settings file.
• Free trial information: To verify the trial period on the same Mac, the app sends a product-specific, one-way transformation of the Mac’s device identifier and a random in-app identifier. The original device identifier is not sent. The server stores the trial’s start and end times and identifiers used to detect duplicate trials. Audio, text, screen images and API keys are not sent.
• License information: Sends the license key, purchaser email address, random identifier of this Mac, and registration status from the purchase email to the server for license confirmation and official update. We do not send audio, recordings, transcriptions, screen images, dictionaries, or API keys. Store signed usage rights in this Mac.

When obtaining the first transcription model or on-device formatting model, connect to the model distribution source. Information submitted in API mode is subject to the privacy policy of the selected API service. License confirmation retains the last signed usage right for a certain period of time in case of a temporary communication failure, but during that time, audio and text will not be sent to the authentication server.

4. Notice of sales start

The email address registered for notification of the start of sales will be used only to inform you when the price, sales method, and provision conditions have been decided. In addition to the consent for the contact form, you will register with consent only for notifications. Registration information will be stored outside the public domain and will not be provided to third parties. 5. Provision to third parties

The acquired information will not be provided to third parties unless required by law or with the consent of the user. We use Stripe for payment. Card information is entered directly into Stripe, and this site does not store card numbers. Purchase information necessary to provide products is stored outside of public areas.

6. Storage period

The contents of your inquiry will be stored for as long as necessary for response and recording purposes. Server access logs are stored according to server settings. Information that is no longer required to be stored will be deleted within a reasonable period of time.

7. Requests for disclosure, correction, and deletion

8. Safety management

This site is delivered using HTTPS, and we have implemented CSRF countermeasures and limits on the number of submissions. We keep the app's configuration files and secret information outside of the public domain. However, we cannot guarantee complete security of communication or storage over the Internet.

9. Revision

This policy may be revised as new features are added or laws change. Important changes will be announced on this page.

Language preference

When you switch languages, a cookie saves your preference for one year. It is not used for advertising or tracking your behavior.

We save the language selected at purchase and use it for post-purchase emails.
